The plecostomus (hypostomus plecostomus) is a freshwater fish, with many different varieties of colors, size, and shape. Many types are found in pet stores. Plecostomus are a type of sucker fish and can help keep your tank clean, from algae. It is a requirement, for  a plecostomus to have a piece of live driftwood in their tank, in order to survive and grow well. A plecostomus will make a great pet, and helpful too!

Fish conflict: can get fairly big and there is a chance they will eat tetras or danios. Since.Since they get over 24 inches at most, they are filed as semi-aggressive, and though quite delicate, can feed on dead fish, and though rare, may attack smaller fish.

These fish are great to clean up algae but can possibly make you need to clean the tank more often. They can be great pets, despite their needy behavior, and though they are demanding, completely worth it.
